about the role.

We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Intern on a rolling basis with an opportunity to continue into a part-time position. This is a part-time position. 

The successful candidate may be enrolled (preferred) full-time in a four-year institution and studying Marketing, Business, or Communications as described below.  We’re looking for a natural storyteller who’s able to think critically and creatively while keeping up with deadlines. You should have a high bar for consistency, quality, rigor, and have a problem-solving spirit.

About 80% of the work will be virtual. We’re offering a flexible schedule around your classes, training, and lastly, we make sure to give you real feedback. The candidate will be reporting directly to the Founder, including an in-person meeting once to twice per month.

compensation:

$15.00/hour for up to 15 hours per week or 60 hours per month. Additional hours may be available upon client demand.
Based on performance, interns are eligible for a 50% pay increase after 90 days, and a full-time offer after nine months.

 
 
 

responsibilities and duties.

  • RESEARCH & ANALYSIS / Target Market Research, Competitive Analysis, Industry Research.

  • STRATEGY & PROBLEM SOLVING / Identify key messages to communicate; develop compelling storylines and logical frameworks to aid workstream; with guidance and feedback.

  • SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT, DATA ANALYSIS, & PLANNING / Posting, curating captions, making calendars, giving recommendations based on data.

  • PHOTOGRAPHY / Covering client events, portraits, or assisting on lighting & setup

  • BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT / Provides innovative ideas to the iammai CREATIVE’s internal marketing strategy and qualifies new leads & markets.

  • CLIENT ENGAGEMENT

  • PROPOSAL WRITING 

  • CULTURE, CONDUCT, COLLABORATION / Embodies iammai CREATIVE internal values on a day-to-day basis, demonstrates professionalism in all facets of works, promotes teamwork by maintaining positive and respectful relationships while contributing to team progress. 

qualifications and skills.

  • Strong interest in storytelling & building digital communities

  • Fluent in Memes, Gifs, humor, and popular culture

  • Adaptable to constructive criticism

  • Strong work ethic & integrity

  • Experience with FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TIK-TOK, TWITTER, and PINTEREST 

  • Data entry and computer skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with SQUARESPACE, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP, ADOBE LIGHTROOM, OR ADOBE PREMIERE PRO or animation capabilities is a plus.
